After a difficult conversation, it's natural to review it in our minds, with thoughts like: "I wish I would have said..." As we all engage in more multi-stakeholder collaboration, we should expect misunderstanding that usually start as accidental. This session will focus on the work of Chris Argyris and his colleagues on moving beyond our own defensive habits to ones that allow us to see how our ways of thinking and acting might be triggering difficulties. At a more strategic level, recognizing potential blind spots can help us see important "discomforting data" that helps us recognize important changes in context that require innovation and change.
