In the wake of recent school shootings, fear over violence in schools has prompted educators and parents to seek the assistance of law enforcement to help prevent future violence. In response to the call for safer schools and communities, LTC David Grossman will be speaking to parents and educators about the causes of school violence and the role the media plays in that phenomenon.
LTC Grossman is one of the world's leading experts on human agression and the causes of violent crime. He authored the book,
Stop Teaching Our Kids to Kill,
and brings real-world insight to an otherwise academic topic through his experience responding to multiple school-based shootings. The lessons learned from these incidents serve as a tool that community members can use to address safety in our schools. The information he provides is frank, direct and adult-themed.
Pre-registration is encouraged to ensure adequate space. Please register by June 10, 2013 via e-mail Trisha Rooda at ema@poweshiekcosheriff.com or 641.623.4357.
