Flood Risk Management with Nonstructural Flood Risk Adaptive Measures
Course Description:
This workshop will illustrate the typical measures, data collection, and assessment techniques to determine potentially feasible nonstructural flood risk adaptive measures. The workshop provides an overview of the State of Iowa and USACE programs available for assistance to communities in assessing their flood risk and identifying potential measures which could lead to implementation and a reduction in future life loss and property damages due to flooding.

Professionals and organizations that assist communities with assessing their flood risk and identifying potential measures intended to reduce future flood damages.

The course is co-sponsored by USACE NFPC, Iowa Floodplain and Stormwater Management Association (IFSMA), Iowa Homeland Security & Emergency Management and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources 1) Registration begins at 8:30 am 2) This course provides 6 CEUs for professional development. A certificate will be provided to those in attendance. 3) Travel and meals will be on your own.
